Rase Veterinary Centre is part of a wider multi-site group (Rase and Aldervale Vets) and states it provides its own out‑of‑hours emergency cover across its small‑animal practices. The website describes a practice set up for both routine and more complex work (diagnostics, onsite laboratory, orthopaedic and soft‑tissue surgery, and a rehab service), with an RCVS Tier 3–accredited hospital site within the group (as described on the website).

My dog had ear problems for a long time. We kept getting antibiotics, ear drops, and ear cleanings — many visits, but no real improvement. He was seen by several different vets at this clinic, yet no one found the real cause. After just one visit to another vet, we discovered it was simply a chicken allergy. My dog went through so much pain, and I spent a lot of money here with no real help. Very disappointing experience — I do not recommend this clinic.

Very distressing and unprofessional experience. We had booked an appointment in advance for blood tests for both our cats — so your team knew exactly what kind of procedure it would be. Still, no assistant or nurse was present to help. For the first cat, the vet shaved her neck, then her leg, and injected her multiple times before finally taking blood. She was clearly in pain and panic. The second cat was injected twice for nothing, as she became too distressed to continue. We were left holding the cats ourselves throughout — a situation that was both unsafe and traumatic for everyone involved. And when it all fell apart with the second cat, we were simply told to come back another day when an assistant is available. Frankly — why wasn’t an assistant available today? You knew exactly what this appointment was for. Are we supposed to drag a terrified animal back again just because your team failed to prepare properly? As far as we understand, the RCVS Code of Conduct clearly states that owners should not be used to restrain animals during invasive procedures — and appropriate staff should be present to ensure safety and welfare. Why was there no veterinary nurse or assistant to help? Why were we asked to restrain our own cats during such an invasive procedure? This experience has seriously shaken our trust in your practice

Our beautiful girl Poppy had been attacked by another dog, as a distraught owner I called and made an appointment for her and they were so brilliant not only with Poppy but me also! Cleaned her up and were so gentle considering she was in very evident pain. Sent us away with lots of things, pain relief and everything I needed to help her on the road to recovery. I thought oh dear how much is this going to cost… (not that it mattered as she is my baby) so thank you Rase vets goole!!!

Had to take my dog Dash as an emergency and can honestly say the way they looked after him, both the vet and the nurse, was absolutely amazing. I was really upset as he was very ill and both were so kind with Dadh, were sympathetic of our situation and were just so kind and reassuring. Within 24 hours he was already showing lots of import nd 3 days of sleepless nights we have him pretty much back to his normal self. I cannot thank you enough Rase for your kindness and expertise and helping our beloved Dash.
